트위터가 갖는 비지니스 커뮤니케이션 차원의 잇점

미투데이, 트위터와 같은 마이크로 블로그는 자신의 생각을 짧은 글로 표현하여 웹 공간에 올리는 서비스이다. 또한 웹에 직접 접속하지 않아도 휴대폰을 이용하여 문자메세지(SMS)로 글을 올릴 수가 있다.
트위터로 얻을 수 있는 비지니스 커뮤니케이션 차원의 잇점은 뭐가 있을까?
1. 대화 촉진 : 당연한 말이겠지만 첫번째가 대화 촉진이다. 순간 순간 떠오르는 자신의 아이디어를 쉽게 올릴 수 있고, 올린 내용을 관심 분야가 유사한 사람끼리 온라인 상으로 실시간으로 공유가 가능하여 대화가 촉진된다.
2. 정보 공유 : 기업을 홍보하거나 새로운 브랜드를 알리는데 있어서 짧은 글을 통해 트위터를 통해 쉽게 전파할 수 있다.
3. 링크 확산 : 트위터의 경우 세간에 화두가 되고 있는 기사나 블로그 포스트 내용을 트위터 링크를 통해 확산시킬 수 있다.
4. 입소문 주도 : 블로고에 글을 작성하고 트랙백을 보내 이슈화하듯 트위터에서도 RT(ReTwitt) 기능을 이용해 입소문을 증폭시킬 수 있다.
5. 개인 및 기업의 온라인 브랜드화 : 유사한 대화 주제를 가진 트위터 사용자들을 팔로우하고, 자신의 대화 주제를 확산시켜 개인 및 기업 브랜드화에 활용할 수 있다.

그리고 이중대(에델만 코리아 이사)님의 글에서는 또한 포레스터 리서치의 애널리스트 출신인 Peter Kim의 Analysis of a wiki of social media marketing examples 제목의 글을 인용하여 소셜 미디어 마케팅을 진행하는 968개의 글로벌 브랜드들이 사용하는 채널이 비즈니스 블로그(27%), 소셜 네트워크 사이트(26%), 마이크로 블로그(16%) 순으로 나타났다고 밝히고 있다.

커뮤니케이션 플랫폼 상의 마이크로 블로그 위치

근래 화두가 되고 있는 미투데이, 트위터와 같은 마이크로 블로그(또는 미니블로그)는 소셜 미디어 채널로서 SNS(Social Network Service)의 일종이다. 국내에서는 이미 지난 1~2년 사이에 미투데이, 토시 등 마이크로 블로그그 서비스가 출시되어 인터넷 유저들이 사용하고 있었다. 마이크로 블로그의 외국계 서비스인 트위터가 근래 갑자기 주목받게 된 이유는 오바마, 오프라 윈프리 등 세계적으로 유명한 인사들이 트위터를 사용하고 있고, 국내에서는 김연아 선수가 트위터를 사용하는 등 유명인의 영향이 큰 것으로 보인다.
이러한 마이크로 블로그가 커뮤니케이션 플랫폼 상에서 어떤 위치를 차지하고 있을까? Inuit (http://inuit.co.kr/)님은 커뮤니케이션 플랫폼을 아래와 같이 분류하고, 마이크로 블로그인 트위터의 위상을 동시성(Synchronous)을 갖고 있는 비 대칭적인(Asymmetric) 서비스로 보고 있다.
대칭성(symmetry)은 1:1 대화인가 아니면 1:N 대화 인가를 분류하는 기준이다. 메일, 쪽지, 채팅 등이 1:1 커뮤니케이션에 가까운 반면 Blog는 1:N 커뮤니케이션에 해당한다.
동시성(synchronicity)은 실시간 커뮤니케이션 여부를 분류하는 기준이다. 채팅이 실시간 커뮤니케이션의 대표적인 예이며 Blog나 메일은 비동기 커뮤니케이션의 수단으로 보면 된다.
이 두가지 분류기준에 따라 트위터등의 마이크로 블로그는 Blog와 같이 불특정 다수를 향한 1:N 커뮤니케이션 채널을 갖고 있는 실시간 대화라고 정의할 수 있다.

시간이 다소 걸렸지만 마침내 박찬호가 필리스 불펜투수로 활약하는데 편안함을 느끼기 시작했다.
PHILADELPHIA -- It has taken Chan Ho Park some time, but he is finally starting to feel comfortable in the Phillies' bullpen.
그렇지만 선발로 다시 뛰고 싶지 않다는 것은 아니라고 했다.
Not that he wouldn't love to start again.
"언젠가는 다시 선발로 뛰고 싶다." "그러나 (지금은) 무언가는 해야 하고, (충분히) 보상 받았으니 불펜으로 뛰어야 한다." 라고 박찬호가 말했다.
"Someday," Park said. "But I've got to do whatever. I'm getting paid. So I've got to do this."
박찬호는 이번 시즌 8번 구원등판하여 2승 무패 방어율 3.21을 기록하고 있다. 선발로는 7번 등판하여 1승1패 방어율 7.29를 기록했다.
Park is 2-0 with a 3.21 ERA in eight relief appearances this season. He went 1-1 with a 7.29 ERA in seven starts.
박찬호는 불펜 역할이 완전히 생소한 것은 아니다. 작년 시즌 박찬호는 다저스에서 대부분 구원투수로 뛰었다.
But Park isn't completely foreign to the bullpen. He pitched in relief much of last season with the Dodgers.

"I didn't pitch too much in tight games," he said. "We've had more tight games here. I was the long man. I pitched when we were behind or extra-inning games. I didn't have much pressure last year. There is more excitement this year. You have to be more focused in the game. It's fun. I'm pitching well, and, obviously, that makes it more fun. I have more games to get more comfortable, but, obviously, I feel much better than the beginning."
박찬호는 작년 시즌 연투를 5차례 했지만 이번 시즌에는 한번도 없었다. 사실 필리스는 박찬호를 매우 신중히 다루고 있다. 매뉴얼 감독은 박찬호가 오른쪽 팔꿈치 통증으로 토요일 던질 수 없었다고 했다.
Park pitched back-to-back games just five times last season. He hasn't done that this season. In fact, the Phillies have had to be careful with Park. Philadelphia manager Charlie Manuel said Park was unable to pitch Saturday because of soreness in his right elbow.
박찬호는 이에 대해 의사소통 과정에서 잘 못 전달된 것이었고 던질 수 있었다고 했다.
Park said it was a miscommunication and he could have pitched.
여하튼 박찬호는 다른 불펜 투수들이 하는 만큼 던지기를 원하고 또한 연투도 원하고 있다.
Regardless, Park is hoping to be able to perform like his bullpen counterparts and pitch in consecutive games.

14일 세인트루이스와 경기에서 8회 추신수가 몰리나의 타구를 잡지 못해 2루타를 내주면서 클리프 리의 무안타 기록이 깨진 것에 대한 기사이다.
팀 어느 누구도 비난하지 않는다고 했지만, 2루타를 허용한 동영상을 보면 조금만 더 열심히 수비했으면 잡을 수 있을 타구로 보였다. 추신수의 수비가 약간 아쉬운 대목이었다.

CLEVELAND -- When his no-hit bid ended with a Yadier Molina double off the wall in the eighth inning of Sunday night's 3-0 victory over the Cardinals, Cliff Lee glared in the direction of right field.

As the ball sailed over his head, Choo had two choices: Try to chase it down at the wall, or let it bounce off the wall and be in a position to field it and prevent a triple. In any other game, Choo said he would have chosen the latter option. But with a no-hitter on the line, he said he wanted to try to make the play. Choo sprinted to the wall, but his gait seemed too slow just as the ball descended two or three steps in front of him and struck the wall about belt-high.
추신수가 볼을 잡을 수가 있었느냐라는 논쟁이 공론화되는 것을 팀은 원하지 않는다.
The debate in the wake of the game was whether Choo could have made the catch if he had laid out for the ball, but it was not a debate the Indians themselves wanted to get involved in publicly.

추신수는 11일 캔사스시티 로열스와 경기에서 연장 10회 행운의 끝내기 안타를 기록한데 이어, 12일 세인트루이스 경기에서 4타수 3안타 3타점으로 맹활약했다.
추신수는 12일 경기에서 1회 중전 적시타, 6회 선두 타자로 나와 우전 안타, 7회 2사 만루에서 중전 적시타를 때려내어 2타점을 올렸다. 8회 1사 2,3루에선 고의 4구로 걸어나갔다.
경기 Recap 기사에서는 추신수가 이번에는 새들의 도움 없이 좋은 활약을 보였다고 적고 있다. 또한 추신수가 "새들을 보지 못해고 오늘 경기에는 새들이 필요 없었다." 라고 웃으며 말했다고 전하고 있다.

추신수는 이날 경기까지 시즌 타율 .297리, 홈런 8개를 기록하고 있다. 이 추세로 시즌을 마친다면 홈런 21개, 도루 23개가 전망되어 20-20 을 기록하는 시즌이 될 것으로 예상된다.

6/2일 샌디에고와 경기 후 기사가 올라왔다. 이날 경기에는 부상으로 빠진 브렛 마이어스를 대신 더블A에서 올라온 안토니오 바스타도가 선발 등판했다. 안토니오 바스타도는 이 경기에서 6이닝 1실점으로 호투하여 1이닝 4실점한 박찬호와 극명하게 대비되었다.
10-1로 큰 점수차로 이기고 있는 상황이니 2~3이닝을 부담 없이 던지기를 바라며 박찬호를 마운드에 올렸을 것이다. 그러나 박찬호는 1이닝 밖에 버티지 못했다. 구단 관계자나 팬들에게 큰 실망감을 준 것은 사실인 것 같다.

News: The Philadelphia Daily News reports that Phillies starter Brett Myers is likely to require surgery that would sideline him for three to four months. The Phillies are awaiting a prognosis from hip specialist Bryan Kelly, but the expectation is that he will need to undergo surgery to repair a torn labrum.
이렇게 되면 마이어스의 자리를 누가 대신하게 되는지를 전망하는 기사에서 박찬호의 이름이 거론되고 있다. philly.com에 올라온 Hip surgery likely for Phillies starter Myers (Posted on Fri, May. 29, 2009 By DAVID MURPHY Philadelphia Daily News) 제목의 기사에서는 박찬호와 Kyle Kendrick을 마이어스 자리를 대신할 후보로 보고 보고 있다. 켄드릭은 마이어스 등판 예정일인 다음주 화요일에 마이너 등판이 예정되어 있다.
In the meantime, the Phillies have several options should Myers need surgery. Righthander Chan Ho Park spent the first month and a half of the season in the rotation before losing his job to lefthander J.A. Happ. Righthander Kyle Kendrick, who spent the last half of 2007 and all of 2008 in the Phillies' rotation, is 4-3 with a 4.25 ERA at Triple A Lehigh Valley and is on schedule to pitch next Tuesday, when Myers' next turn would be.

If Myers can't pitch, Amaro said the Phillies immediately would look internally to fill the void in the rotation. He said Carlos Carrasco, Kyle Kendrick, Andrew Carpenter and Antonio Bastardo are candidates. It appears Chan Ho Park is not a candidate and will remain in the bullpen.
But an internal solution might not be the final solution. The Phillies are expected to step up their efforts to acquire starting pitching, although that will not be easy.

PHILADELPHIA -- Phillies righty Chan Ho Park may have resurrected his career last season in middle relief, but that doesn't mean he feels at ease in the bullpen.

He lost the job because Phillies starters, who entered Tuesday with a Major League-worst 6.35 ERA, have not pitched deep into games, which is putting a strain on the bullpen. The Phils are concerned that the bullpen's heavy workload in April and May could translate into burnout come August and September. And because left-hander Jamie Moyer and right-hander Joe Blanton are not candidates to be replaced, Happ for Park was the only viable option.

Good work by the offense and the bullpen got him off the hook as the Phils went on to an 8-6 win.

This is a complicated issue. Moyer is one of the most respected people in the entire organization. He led the team in wins last year. His next win will be his 250th. He is not a viable bullpen option. He will be given every opportunity to pitch himself out of his current funk. The team is trying to help facilitate that by moving his next start from tomorrow to Wednesday. That will allow him to miss the Yankees this weekend and pitch against Florida, a team he has dominated, next week.

Park has now made seven starts. Five of them have been poor. The Phils are completely justified moving him to the 'pen now, if they choose. It seems likely that at some point in the coming weeks - maybe this week - they will go that route. Romero is due back from his suspension early next month. That will give the bullpen another lefty to compensate for a possible move of Happ.

Bad starts are often short starts and nothing conspires against a bullpen more. Last year, the Phillies had the best bullpen in the National League. The starting rotation was an important part of that success. Phils starters pitched 966 innings, third most in the NL. Teams that get innings from their starters don't overwork their bullpens.
