아래 기사에는 단지 두번 선발 등판의 결과로 5선발에 대해 변화를 주는 것은 아직 이르다는 매뉴얼 감독의 말을 전하고 있다. 또한 이날 3회 3실점 한 것에 대해 좌익수 수비가 매끄러웠다면 1점으로 막을 수도 있었을 것으로 보고 있다. 그리고 만족스러운 경기였다라는 박찬호 인터뷰도 싣고 있다. 그렇지만 결과만 두고 본다면 5이닝 4실점은 선발 투수로서 만족스럽지 못한 기록이다.

매뉴얼 감독에게는 두번 선발등판은 단지 두번 선발등판에 불과하다.
PHILADELPHIA -- Two starts are just two starts to Charlie Manuel.
필라델피아 선발 로테이션 중 5선발에 대해 어떤 결론을 이끌어 내거나 새로운 결정을 하기에는 두번 선발등판이 충분하지 않다.
They are not enough to draw conclusions or make decisions about the fifth starter in the Phillies rotation.
박찬호는 일요일 시티즌 뱅크 파크에서 열린 샌디에고 파드레스와 경기에서 5이닝 동안 안타 8개를 허용하며 4실점했다. 볼넷은 한개를 기록했다. 이날 경기는 필라델피아가 파드레스를 5-4로 이겼다. 이로서 박찬호는 이번 시즌 두번 선발 등판하여 승패 없이 방어율 8.68을 기록하게 되었다.
Phillies right-hander Chan Ho Park allowed eight hits, four runs, one walk and one home run in five innings on Sunday in a 5-4 victory over the San Diego Padres at Citizens Bank Park. Park is 0-0 with an 8.68 ERA after two starts this season.
J.A 햅이 박찬호를 구원 등판하여 3이닝을 무실점으로 막았다. 햅은 스프링 트레이닝 5선발 경쟁에서 아깝게 박찬호에게 밀렸다. 햅은 이번 시즌 4번 등판하여 방어율 2.35를 기록하고 있다.
Left-hander J.A. Happ, who narrowly lost the competition for the fifth starter's job to Park in Spring Training, followed Park with three scoreless innings in relief. Happ has a 2.35 ERA in four appearances.

박찬호는 3회 3점을 주었지만, 사실 단지 1점만 줘도 되는 상황이었다. 1점을 허용한 후, 1사 1루인 상태에서 에드가 곤잘레스가 좌익수 쪽으로 라인 드라이브 타구를 날렸다. 좌익수 라울 이바네즈는 공을 직접 잡으려고 슬라이딩 했지만 공을 그를 지나치면서 3루타가 되었고 추가 실점하였다. 다시 곤잘레스는 후속 타자 땅볼 때 홈으로 들어왔고 파드레스가 3-0으로 앞서 갔다.
Park allowed three runs in the third inning, but it easily could have been just one. A run had scored and the Padres had a runner on first with one out when Edgar Gonzalez hit a line drive to left field. Left fielder Raul Ibanez appeared to have a line on the ball, but when he slid to make the catch, the ball went by him for a triple, allowing a second run to score. Gonzalez then scored on a ground ball to give the Padres a 3-0 lead.
