[박찬호 선발 잔류 기사] Penny won't return before All-Star break

박찬호 선수가 올스타 브레이크(7/14~7/18) 이전까지는 선발로테이션에 남게되었다.

MLB.com에 실린 Penny won't return before All-Star break  라는 제목의 기사에서 브랫 페니의 최근 상태가 실렸다. 브랫 페니는 토요일 AT&T 구장에서 있었던 시뮬레이션 게임에서 어께 불편함을 느껴 4회 피칭을 그만 두었고 올스타 브레이크 전까지 선발 로테이션에 복귀하지 않는다고 했다. 페니는 여전히 불편함을 느끼고 있다고 말했다.

이에 따라 기사에서는 토레 감독이 박찬호가 올스타 브레이크 이전까지 선발로테이션에 남는다고 말했다고 언급했으며 그 이후 선발로테이션이 조정할 것으로 전망했다.

Dodgers pitcher Brad Penny shut down his simulated game in the fourth inning Saturday at AT&T Park because of continued shoulder discomfort and will not return to the rotation until after the All-Star break.

Penny, who has been disabled since June 15 with tendinitis and inflammation in the bursa sac, will be re-examined by Dr. Neal ElAttrache on Monday. Penny underwent an MRI three weeks ago that showed no structural damage in the shoulder, but has not had a cortisone shot, relying on therapy and anti-inflammatory medication.

"I still feel it," said Penny.

Penny faced teammates Andruw Jones, Delwyn Young, Danny Ardoin and Luis Maza in the simulated game. He threw 46 pitches over three innings and made five more in the fourth before walking off the mound, speaking briefly to manager Joe Torre and trainer Stan Conte before leaving for the clubhouse.

Torre said that Chan Ho Park, who started in Penny's place Saturday, would remain in the rotation through the All-Star break, when the pitching order will be adjusted.
